Visual Artist and Educator

As a visual artist and art educator, I cannot imagine my life without art and the creative process. I don’t remember a day without art in my life, starting with my mom who painted and wherever we lived, we went to museums, especially art museums. I went on to study  art at the SF Academy of Art and got my BFA, then my MFA, and recently my MAT. And now I am so excited everyday to get up and go to work teaching elementary school students art. I have been teaching art to many age groups, from elementary school children to adults, for almost 20 years. Teaching art is my passion and my growth as an artist is intertwined with my own students' growth. My own work is realistic and I do commissions of portraits and animals, and I create my own personal artwork. I also make mixed media artwork, experimenting and exploring different mediums and subjects.

I am teaching elementary school students in Fremont and I love it. Eventually, I might try to teach highschool students and maybe even teach at the college level.
